MTC products are made from the finest materials available. Designed, developed, fabricated and tested in the U.S.A. You now have a choice of choosing between plastics or metals products. There is never any comprise of materials or quality in the pursuit of performance or product value. MTC will never produce products with Styrofoam, Coroplast (polypropylene-plastic cardboard), PVC tubing, polymers, fiberglass, Actel/Delrin, Teflon, wood, Dixie cups or water bottles for the purpose of reducing manufacturing cost or weight reduction, there are far better and more durable long-lasting solutions with equal performance. Generally, plastics are lighter weight than aluminum. But with the proper manufacturing application and weight-reducing techniques and highly efficient, low friction pivots this is easily reduced to a non-issue. Composite material, when used are limited to non-functioning (stationary) components such as metering scale backgrounds. I am searching for a better alternative, but for now, this appears to be the best weight and cost solution. Non-mechanical connections are secured with high-performance epoxy or Loctite. Component are machined from 6061-T6 or 6105-T5 aluminum and 304 Series Stainless Steel. Machined aluminum components are protected with hard surface anodizing. Hardware is machinery application materials and not the cheap zinc plated course threaded hardware store type.
Current designs of MTC products are the result of extensive testing for performance and endurance. “NONE” other than the very best performing configurations are offered. Extensive testing has proven that different tail fin configurations have a direct effect on performance and visibility that is why MTC offers only one shape. MTC products are designed to be operated in all weather conditions without being affected or performance diminished. Leveling devices are included in our products that require critical balance or ground leveling adjustment. They are also included with four (4) styles of setup bubble levels. Tails are cut from aluminum sheet and applied with outdoor (5-year life) high visibility sign quality vinyl overlays (sign vinyl is PVC) that include true wind direction with contrasting colored arrows. Dual (2) high-quality miniature caged stainless steel ball bearings and ground stainless steel post are used on MTC Tracker products along with carbon fiber arrow shafts, brass, and stainless steel hardware. Strong (Neodymium Rare Earth) magnetic dampening is employed to reduce continuing motion once the wind has stopped moving. Purchased components (unfortunately some items are not available or affordable within the USA anymore) are fully inspected and tested prior to application. Measuring devices (digital and dial indicators) are accurate within 0.0005 SAE or 0.01mm (0.00039) of an inch. The electronic digital measuring indicator is switchable between SAE and Metric, plus allowing “0” to be set at any position.
Spare components and some duplicates are provided at no additional cost with the initial purchase. Spares, vinyl overlays, individual components, and repairs are available at a reasonable cost. Every product is pre-assembled and tested for performance, consistency, and reliability to ensure user satisfaction and years of service prior to shipping.
It should be noted that several of the MTC products are somewhat delicate and sensitive in order to respond to the purpose they are intended to accomplish. This is not unique to MTC as all products of these types require similar care and attention to be successful at accomplishing rapid response and accuracy.
